Wright’s Cemetery Cleanup
November 7th and 8th, 2026

On July 27th, members of the Harsin family gathered for a tour of the historic homestead along Wright’s Ridge Road in Carroll County, Kentucky. The ridge has long been home to several prominent families — the Wright, Taylor, and Harsin families — all of whom were already living there as early as 1820. Over generations, these families intermarried and built a shared history that remains deeply rooted in the area.

Many of their ancestors were laid to rest in a private cemetery originally owned by the Wright family, which is still held by descendants today. When the tour group arrived at the cemetery, they found it extremely difficult to access due to long-term neglect. Fallen trees, overgrown weeds, and thick briars now cover much of the grounds, making it challenging to walk through or locate graves.

With the owner’s approval, a volunteer group is being organized to restore this historic cemetery, which contains at least 106 known family members. Volunteers will gather on November 7th and 8th with chainsaws, weed eaters, and rakes to begin clearing the site.

If you would like to contribute your time to this effort, please contact Ray for more information.
